Principal Consultant Luke  Barrett

Luke Barrett is a Principal Consultant with ThoughtWorks, Inc. where he works with clients to clarify their business challenges and shape solutions to them.

In particular Luke focuses on approaches to solution definition and requirements capture that are highly iterative and collaborative as well as strongly supported by the use of visual models. He is continually looking for better ways to build and maintain a shared understanding of the evolving solutions between business owners, end-users and implementation teams.

Before ThoughtWorks Luke worked as Senior User Experience Architect for mPower Europe, an online financial advice provider. He began his career at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) where he worked with a wide range of clients in the finance and retail sectors. He holds a first class joint honours degree in Philosophy and Psychology, as well as a Diploma in Applied Psychology, from the University of Nottingham.

Abstract:

Mingle is an agile project management and collaboration tool for software teams. It provides a shared workspace for the entire team allowing results to be delivered more quickly. Mingle is powerfully simple and builds upon ThoughtWorks' many years of experience delivering software in an agile manner.

See a short introduction to Mingle followed by a case study from SportingBet presented by Nader Talai, their Head of IT Development. SportingBet is one of the world's leading online gaming companies, and Nader will showcase how they use Mingle in their projects.

The presentation will end with a chance to ask questions of both SportingBet and the Mingle team.
