Presentation: "Changing Directions: New Ways in Application Performance Management"

Time: Wednesday 11:45 - 12:45

Location: Wordsworth Room

Abstract:

A recent performance survey showed that about two thirds of IT organisations fail or have problems delivering adequate application performance. The reasons range from technical to organisational. Although the business impact is obvious trends show it might even get worse. Continuous Application Performance Management represents a new approach towards performance optimization. Start early, automate where you can, and improve communications are the main dogmas of this approach.

Keywords: Performance, Lifecycle, Testing, Agile

Target Audience: Architects, Test Managers

Presentation: "Panel Discussion on Scalability issues"

Time: Thursday 10:30 - 11:30

Location: Shelley Room

Abstract:

What does it take to scale? This panel will bring together leading architects and solution providers in the area of performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and clustering; the panel will explore current and emerging architectures, practices, and solutions for achieving predictable performance & scalability.

The panel is moderated by Ryan Slobojan

Presentation: "Performance Testing at the Edge"

Time: Friday 15:30 - 16:30

Location: Westminster Suite

Abstract:

Performance testing a non-trivial system easily becomes a challenges. Waiting for the results of a load test after development or even production monitoring data will not work. In this talk I will explain how complex software system can be performance tested across all lifecycle phases. Following a problem solution approach major topics like how to identify performance regressions in development, how to test a complex multi-component system, how to run large scale tests with limited hardware or how to use the cloud for scalability testing.

Keywords: Testing, Continuous Integration, Performance, Diagnosing

Target Audience: This talk targets developers, architects and tester who want to learn more on how to effectively integrate performance testing and analysis into their processes.
