Mick Blowfield, Future of Work (FoW)

 Mick  Blowfield

Mick Blowfield is an author and London Business School and Oxford University research fellow on Climate Change, corporate behaviour and corporate social responsibility. Mick has worked as an academic and consultant in the field of corporate social and environmental responsibility with a particular focus on the socio-political context of corporate responsibility, and the role of business in society. Building on extensive experience in international development, including living and working in twenty different countries, he began a critical examination of corporate responsibility in global supply chains in the late 1990s. More recently he has worked with CEOs and other senior executives on the role of business as change agent in 21st century society. His current focus is business as an agent of change in the context of climate change.

Abstract:

A thought-provoking session on the challenges posed by a low carbon future, providing insight from a broad Industry context, academia and ongoing research. The heavy lifting to achieve transformation on climate change will often come through technology and re-gearing it in a new context, so IT professionals will be at the forefront of change.
