Presentation: "HTML5 @ Facebook"

Time: Friday 14:05 - 15:05

Location: Westminster Suite, Fourth Floor

Abstract:
The term “HTML5” has come to mean more than just the single HTML5 specification, but really represents the next evolution of the web platform and thus dozens of related specifications. At Facebook we've begun to take advantage of new capabilities in modern browsers whether it's using the Geolocation API within Places or full on HTML5 video on the iPhone and iPad. But the real promise of HTML5 is being able to build rich web applications once and have them seamlessly adapt to many different mobile and desktop browsers. This presentation will be exploring the why and how behind Facebook's adoption of HTML5 technologies.
