The vision

QCon is a conference that is organized by the community, for the community. As software developers and architects ourselves, we wanted to craft the ultimate conference that we would find outstanding, as attendees. The result is a high quality conference experience where a tremendous amount of attention and investment has gone into having the best content on the most important topics presented by the leaders in our community, staged in an intimate environment with the best food and comforts needed to support as much learning and networking as possible.

The content

QCon is designed with the technical depth and enterprise focus of interest to technical team leads, architects, and project managers. Some of the speakers include Martin Fowler, CTO Werner Vogels, Spring creator Rod Johnson, Hibernate creator Gavin King, Scrum co-founder Jeff Sutherland, LINQ inventor Erik Meijer and many more. The tracks at QCon were chosen to reflect both the hard hitting problems facing enterprise software today as well as the cutting edge that will become mainstream tomorrow, see the tracks listing elsewhere in this brochure.

Why London?

The UK has consistently been among the highest sources of visitors on and other enterprise software sites, but the UK does not have a major conference of the magnitude and quality of QCon. The event brings the leaders of the Agile, Java, .NET, Ruby, and SOA communities to London in this first annual event which should become an essential conference for years to come.

Who is behind QCon?

Organized jointly by the JAOO conference and the Enterprise Software Development Community (original creators of and Symposium conferences), QCon is the result of 13 years of combined expertise in producing quality conferences for the enterprise software development community. JAOO has been running in Denmark for 10 years and annually attracts over 1000 attendees. (Information Queue) is an independent online community focused on change and innovation in enterprise software development serving over 80,000 unique visitors a month with high quality news, articles, books, streaming video conference presentations & interviews covering Java, .NET, Ruby, SOA, and Agile.
