Presentation: "Modern web applications with Dojo: the cutting edge"

Track:   Ajax & Browser-Based Applications

Time: Friday 14:30 - 15:30

Location: Fleming Room

Abstract:

Push for better user experience, and performance demands of popular web applications forced us to rethink how we structure our web applications. At the time when the combined computing power of client computers exceeds the computing power of web servers by several orders of magnitude, we pay more attention to the client-side development. Moving parts of a web application to the client allows us to provide better ways to interact with the application.

In his talk Eugene will explain how Dojo solves common problems of Ajax-based applications, and present new ways to improve the user experience with focus on interactivity and visualization. This talk will include demonstrations of the latest additions to Dojo, some of them still in an experimental stage.
