Presentation: "From Dev to Production: Better Living through Build Pipelines and Teamwork"

Time: Wednesday 15:00 - 16:00

Location: Henry Moore Room

How does the software you write make it on to production systems? How do you get involved with - and help - operations deploy your application? How can you ensure that Developers, QA and Operations doesn't become silos, throwing artifacts and defects over the wall at each other?

By introducing the concept of Build Pipelines, this talk will show you how to understand how your software moves from your developer's workstations on to production systems, explaining concrete good practices to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible involving the whole team.

Drawing on concrete experience from multiple delivery project, the talk will explain the steps of moving from simplistic Continuous Builds to Continuous Deployment, and help you build a few bridges at the same time.

Keywords: build, devops, deployment, continuous release, process

Target Audience: Anyone involved with creating or deploying production software with a basic understanding of Continuous Integration
