Not Only Java
- Host
- Trisha Gee
- Track abstract
- Java is one of the world’s most popular programming languages, with claims that there are more than 9 million Java developers worldwide. But now it’s nearly 20 years old, is it still relevant? Should we be investigating new programming languages and paradigms for the modern world?
The good news is that not only is a new version of Java around the corner, with exciting "new" ideas like lambdas, but the JVM supports a range of other languages, each with their own pros and cons, giving you a varied toolbox and the flexibility to pick the right tool for the right job.
In this track we’ll cover Not Only modern Java, but also how the JVM in general is used in production systems across businesses.
