Join the track speakers and invited guests as they discuss where AI is heading and how it's affecting software today.

Speaker: Philip Winder

Consultant, Engineer, Scientist @Winder Research and Development Ltd.

Phil is an internationally recognised speaker with expertise that lies between cloud-native software and data science. He is a strong believer that we should be avoiding the same mistakes caused by the disintegration of dev and ops in data science. And that we need a new breed of engineers that span data-dev-ops.  One of Phil’s businesses, Winder Research, provides cloud-native data science consultancy, training and development. He also runs the website https://TrainingDataScience.com which provides free and paid data science training courses and workshops to help the next generation of engineering-focused data scientists.

Speaker: Antoine Pichot

Quantitative Researcher @Systematica Investments

Antoine Pichot joined Systematica Investment in Geneva, an $8bn hedge fund, in 2015 as Quantitative Researcher. He is building algorithms to trade automatically in the stock market. Prior to Systematica, Antoine was an Executive Director for Goldman Sachs in London for six years. Antoine also worked in equities for BNP Paribas in Paris and Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong. Antoine conducted his post-doc research on hidden Markov models at Telecom ParisTech’s applied Mathematics lab. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Telecom ParisTech and three MSc: Applied Mathematics from Ecole Polytechnique, Applied Physics and Computer Science. Antoine spends his days coding models in Matlab and his free time with his two daughters or kitesurfing.

Guillaume Laforge is Developer Advocate for Google Cloud Platform, during the day, often talking about serverless technologies, conversational interfaces, or machine learning APIs. And at night, he wears his Apache Groovy cap, a popular alternative language for the Java Virtual Machine.

Director, Data Science @Salesforce Einstein

Sarah Aerni is a Director of Data Science at Salesforce Einstein, where she leads teams building AI-powered applications across the Salesforce platform. Prior to Salesforce she led the healthcare & life science and Federal teams at Pivotal. Sarah obtained her PhD from Stanford University in Biomedical Informatics, performing research at the interface of biomedicine and machine learning. She also co-founded a company offering expert services in informatics to both academia and industry.

Artificial Intelligence DevRel @NVIDIA

After spending her first year with NVIDIA as a Deep Learning Solutions Architect, Alison is now responsible for NVIDIA's Artificial Intelligence Developer Relations in the EMEA region. She is a mature graduate in Artificial Intelligence combining technical and theoretical computer science with a physics background & over 20 years of experience in international project management, entrepreneurial activities and the internet. She consults on a wide range of AI applications, including planetary defence with NASA & the SETI Institute and continues to manage the community of AI & Machine Learning researchers around the world, remaining knowledgeable in state of the art across all areas of research. She also travels and advises, teaches and evangelizes NVIDIA’s platform, around the globe.

Eric is the CEO of streamdata.io. He was a founding team member at Internet Way (French B2B ISP, sold to UUnet) then Radianz (Global Finance Cloud, sold to BT). He is a High Frequency Trading infrastructure expert, passionate about Fintech, IoT and Cleantech. Eric looks after 3 bozons and has worked in San Francisco, NYC, Mexico and now Paris.

Developer at Booking.com; Open Source Contributor in DuckDuckGo, GitHub and Pandas

Sahil is a software developer at Booking.com. He has been involved in leveraging container infrastructure to help Booking.com’s internal teams in taking advantage of deep learning techniques at scale.
An open source software enthusiast, Sahil is a core contributor and community leader for DuckDuckGo's open source organisation. Besides that he is one of the contributors to the Git project, pandas - open source data analysis library, Linguist project by GitHub and Go-GitHub project by Google.
