Diversity Scholarship/Fund - Painting Raffle - Tuesday, 18:15 to 19:00

  • Location: 3rd floor, Fleming

QCon is dedicated to supporting a conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We are establishing a fund to help ensure access to the conference by those without the means or privilege. We are holding a raffle at QCon, for a painting designed and created by QCon track host and committee member, Anne Currie, that supports this fund.

The Diversity Scholarship is a program to help make sure everyone, regardless of financial resources or privilege has a place at the conference. The scholarship runs by recommendations of track hosts, speakers, and committee members who recommend someone to attend the conference. From that pool, we randomly draw a set of names based on what’s available in the scholarship fund. 100% of the money raised from the raffle will go to our scholarship fund. Tickets will be sold on Monday and Tuesday, with the winner being selected Tuesday evening at the sponsor raffle. Must be present to win. Winner has the option of the painting or the cash value of the painting.

QCon Closing Reception and Keynote – Wednesday, 17:00 to 17:30

  • Beer, wine, soda and snacks
  • Location: 1st flr. Pickwick

At QCon London last year, we tried something new. We brought in a fun, energetic keynote that helped us wrap up the incredible three days with a bang. It worked out great! This year, we’re doing it again. We call it Bytesize: Open Doors @QConLondon.

This year's closing keynote for QCon London 2019 is Ben Goldacre, an award-winning writer, broadcaster, doctor, academic and campaigner for what he calls Bad Science. He has written on the topic in several places (including a column in the Guardian) and has sold over 600,000 copies of his books worldwide. His talk is called: Bad Science, Better Data.

In addition to this 5:30pm closing keynote, for a nominal fee we’re opening the doors for the final sessions of the conference. For £10, people who haven’t attended QCon (including QCon attendee partners and members of the community) can join us. Attendance includes access to Ben’s keynote on Bad Science, Better Data plus all the sessions in the final 4:10 pm time slot. Guests (non-QCon attendees) can register here

Peer sharing in the Open Space sessions - Monday & Tuesday

You can add value and get value in return when you attend the Open Space peer sharing sessions. In Open Space meetings, participants create and manage their own agenda of parallel working sessions around a central theme of strategic importance.

QCon Online Social Platform

Before the event we will email you a username and password for the site that will give you access to your attendee dashboard.
