Frequently Asked Questions

Registration Related

Who can I contact for questions relating to payment?

You can contact us for any payment questions at payments@qconlondon.com.

Can I pay for tickets by invoice?

You are able to pay by invoice online by checking the "Do You Want to Pay Later by Invoice?" check box during registration.

The amount of your invoice reflects the published ticket price in effect at the time that your payment of the invoice is due, which is 30 days* from when you submit the order and receive your invoice. Prices exclude VAT or Canadian GST/HST, which will be added as appropriate at checkout. You can review our list of early bird discounts (i.e. early payment discounts) and dates of pricing changes on this pricing table. Pricing is based on the date of receipt of payment. If you pay by credit card instead, you will receive that day's price and you will be emailed a full receipt, marked paid. Only participants who have paid for the event in full before the event start date, will be admitted to the conference or receive access credentials.

For In-Person Conference and/or Training Tickets:

Payment by invoice online will be available until Tuesday March 4th, 2025 (subject to change without notice). After March 4th, 2025 you can email us at payments@qconlondon.com to request payment by invoice. Due to the proximity of the start date of the event, we encourage you to instead make a payment by credit card. All credit card payments will automatically generate a receipt, marked paid, that is emailed to the buyer for your accounting records. If you still require an invoice to pay by wire, please email us and will evaluate your request to confirm that your payment by wire will be received by us no later than March 25th, 2025. Please note that this will be less than 30 days to send payment.

*except where an invoice is issued between January 31st and March 4th, 2025, in which case payment is due no later than March 11th, 2025.

For Video-Only Passes:

Payment by invoice online will be available until Monday April 14th, 2025 (subject to change without notice).  Any tickets purchased after April 14th, 2025 must be paid via credit card or PayPal on our online registration portal. All credit card payments will automatically generate a receipt, marked paid, that is emailed to the buyer for your accounting records.

*except where an invoice is issued between March 17th, 2025 and April 14th, 2025, in which case payment is due no later than April 21st, 2025.

What are the early bird discounts?

We offer discounted prices for purchasing earlier. We call this offer our “early bird” pricing. The earlier the ticket is purchased prior to the start of the conference, the larger the discount offered. You can review our list of early bird deadlines and pricing changes in our pricing table (subject to change without notice). For early bird pricing offers, we show the savings (as a percentage) if the ticket is purchased today versus the full price charged at the conference.

Do you offer discounts for multiple ticket purchases for teams or groups looking to attend?

Groups as small as 3 attendees working for the same company are eligible for a group discount starting December 11, 2024. Groups of 10+ people can take advantage of special discounts prior to this date.

We also offer our returning QCon and QCon Plus attendees an alumni discount for tickets purchased starting October 2nd, 2024.

In-Person Conference and/or Training Tickets are subject to UK VAT:

20% VAT will be added at purchase. VAT is charged because the place of supply of services in respect of admission to this QCon event is dictated by where the event actually takes place. In this case, as the conference is to be held in London, the VAT place of supply is the UK and so we are required to charge UK VAT.

Video-Only Tickets may be subject to Canadian Sales Tax:

Canadian Sales Tax may be added at the time of purchase if the buyer or the attendee's country of residence is Canada. Should you be prompted, please complete any sales tax questions to the best of your ability so that we may determine the appropriate tax to charge, if applicable.

There are 15 primary themes at QCon. Each of the major themes is organized into what we call tracks. A track represents five curated talks, and most tracks also include an unconference session.

All of the sessions are led by domain experts who guide the selection process. If a track is sponsored by a vendor, it is separated from the main editorial tracks and labeled as sponsored. These are separate from the 15 editorial tracks at QCon. You will never find sponsored content hidden into the main editorial content at the conference.

What do you mean by "no hidden marketing"?

Outside of the main 15 tracks, QCon will offer additional sponsored tracks. If a track is sponsored by a vendor, it is separated from the main editorial tracks and labeled as sponsored. These are separate from the 15 editorial tracks at QCon. One of the core tenants of QCon is transparency, you will never find sponsored content hidden into the main editorial content at the conference.

What is an Unconference Session?

QCon features scheduled Unconference Sessions. These facilitated sessions are designed to bring together groups of individuals to work on a crowd-sourced agenda of topics. These provide valuable opportunities to learn and connect with peers.

What is the QCon Video-Only ticket? Video-Only Pass

The Video-Only ticket allows you to watch the recorded presentations that will be released two weeks after the in-person conference. The mode is self-paced, the ticket does not include any live or interactive elements.

Viewing time for all the technical content is around 60+ hours - you will be able to watch all these sessions at your own pace. Videos will remain available for 6 months.

What does the Video-Only ticket include? Video-Only Pass

The Video-Only ticket includes access to the recorded presentation that will become available 2 weeks after the actual conference.

When will session recordings be available?

The session recordings will become available on April 28, 2 weeks after the live conference.

Can I purchase both an in-person ticket and a Video-Only ticket on the same order? Video-Only Pass

In-person and Video-Only tickets must be purchased in separate orders. This is due to the different tax regulations and definitions of the "place of supply" of an in-person event versus and online access. Please refer to the FAQ section on "Why do I need to be charged VAT on an in-person ticket purchase?” for more information.

How do attendees get access to the session recordings?

All you have to do is log into your QCon London account using the password you will be provided upon registration. All participants should have received an email with their login details. If you can’t find that email, check your spam folder. Alternatively, you can reset your password.

The session recordings will become available on the respective presentation pages you can find on the schedule 2 weeks after QCon London.

We recommend using the latest versions of web browsers like Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, or Edge (Chromium). These browsers entirely support the new audio-video technology.

If I have trouble accessing the recordings, what troubleshooting do you recommend?
  • A desktop computer or laptop. Other mobile devices, like smartphones or tablets, are not supported.
  • A fast and reliable internet connection.
  • The latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge browser. Apple Safari is not supported. We strongly recommend choosing Google Chrome as this browser is the most advanced in terms of integrating with the WebRTC technology the video player is based on.

If you are having issues:

  • Make sure your setup is compatible with the above requirements.
  • Sometimes, it might take a moment before the room loads. If you are stuck on the loading screen, try refreshing the page (CTRL+F5 on Windows or Command+R on Mac).
  • Check your internet speed/quality and system: https://utilities.clickmeeting.com/connection-tester
  • It is important to disconnect from any VPN servers you might be using and ensure your firewall is configured properly. If connecting from a corporate network, make sure to forward the Firewall configuration to your IT department.
  • Try disabling your browser’s ad/cookie blocker.
  • If the problem persists, try using a different browser. If that helps, it means the original browser is causing the problem. Try clearing its cache and cookies to fix the problem.
  • Try using a different internet connection (ex: mobile hotspot). If that helps, it means your original internet connection is causing the issues (potentially the VPN setup).

Why is QCon a conference for practitioners by practitioners?

At QCon, we prefer Engineers over Evangelists, Practitioners over Trainers/Coaches, and Team Leads over Consultants. We want to hear from the people who are living with decisions and implementations. This is core to what makes QCon QCon.

What is the QCon code of conduct?

We designed QCon as a place where everyone feels safe to express themselves, learn, and succeed in adopting new technology and practices. We enforce this through the QCon Code of Conduct to provide a safe and inclusive learning space for our thousands of inspiring attendees.

What is a QCon software development conference?

QCon focuses on emerging software trends and innovations in software development and technical leadership with all talks by software domain experts. Our Programming Committee identifies the key trends and creates a curated learning journey by selecting leading software practitioners to deep-dive on each topic.

Sessions are composed of keynotes from world-class practitioners, tech talks with leading authorities, Q&As, and an opportunity to engage with peers to help answer your questions. You’ll gain actionable ideas that you can take back to your team and implement right away.
