The global financial services industry is currently optimised for the industrial economy: business models, organisation structures, technologies are all aligned to create value in a world of scarce information. However over the last 40 years, the foundations of a new economic paradigm - the "information economy" have been laid and more recently - with the advent of ubiquitous and low-cost computing and communication technologies - the transition to a new optimum has begun. Using the metaphor of the information technology stack, we'll explore how the realities of this new information economy might shape the future of financial services businesses and the winning business models of the future.

Sean Park is the founder of anthemis. He has been involved as founding investor in a number of disruptive and highly successful new ventures such as Betfair, Weatherbill, and Seedcamp, and has extensive experience investing in an advising start-up and high growth companies in addition to over 16 years of experience working at a senior level in capital markets and investment banking.

Before founding anthemis (and its predecessor Nauiokas Park LLP) he spent 16 years working in a variety of senior capital market roles, most recently at Dresdner Kleinwort. He was also a non-executive Director of MarkIt Group and Board Chairman of the International Index Company (formerly iBoxx).
