Patrick Kua works as an active, generalising specialist for ThoughtWorks and dislikes being put into a box. Patrick is often found leading technical teams, frequently coaching people and organisations in lean and agile methods, and sometimes facilitating situations beyond adversity. Patrick is fascinated by elements of learning and continuous improvement always helping others to develop enthusiasm for these same elements.

The beginner's mind is often the best place to start learning and where software craftsman have the potential to grow the most. As time goes by and the craftsman develops expertise they start to close down many learning opportunities. During this session, we'll explore how you can maintain the beginner's mind whilst still growing expertise and how to apply this to your craftsmanship journey. We'll explore how craftsman learn, what prevents people from learning and give you concrete tips on accelerating your learning.
