Future of Java

Java technology, has been extraordinarily successful; by some metrics Java has been the most or second-most popular programming language, in a broad range of communities, for most of a decade. But as a language ages, it inevitably becomes more complex. How do you balance the need to keep the language simple against the demand for adding more and more features? How do you support long terms trends such as many-core programming, the use of multiple languages, and the rise of cloud computing without overburdening the language with complexity.

This track will bring together key players in the Java SE and EE space to explore how well placed Java is to remain the a key language for the next decade and beyond.
