When DevOps Runs Its Course - We Need Platform as a Runtime

In this talk, Aviran will describe how http://Wix.com is pushing this trend even further to build its own Platform as a Runtime (PaaR) infrastructure that allows developers to develop faster, better with higher quality. By allowing nano deployments of different modules into a “SingleRuntime” inside a robust internal platform that handles many of the non-functional concerns developers are facing on a daily basis.

How would you describe the persona and level of the target audience?

This talk is targeted to positions ranging from engineering managers/CTOs to developers.

What do you want this persona to walk away with from your presentation?

I'd like attendees to take a fresh look at how their software development is done, what their time wasters are, and ways to improve the velocity, quality, and operational aspects of systems.

In many cases, developers dislike abstractions, but this is a different way to look at what is really important in their work and not spend so much of their time wiring components and frameworks together.

Is there anything interesting that you've learned from a previous QCon?

I have attended QCon many times and each time I have learned and taken something back with me, such as continuous delivery practices, system's thinking and innovations in the JVM.
